VR PLAYER 360 MAC
Questions & answers.
Quick answers about ActuallyWorks VR Player 360 Mac: what it plays, what you need, and what it costs.
BEFORE YOU BUY
Getting started.
Do I need a VR headset?
No, a headset is optional. ActuallyWorks VR Player 360 Mac plays VR and 360 video right on your Mac display. Drag to look around, adjust the field of view, and recenter the view whenever you like. If you have them, compatible XR glasses or anaglyph 3D glasses add more ways to watch.
How much does it cost?
$9.99 in the US, as a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. There’s no subscription, and all future updates are free. App Store prices in other countries may differ.
Can I try it before I buy?
Yes. The free trial includes 15 minutes of actual video playback. Time spent opening files, changing settings, or getting set up doesn’t count toward it.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple Silicon running macOS 15 or later.
VIDEO FORMATS
What it plays.
Which video formats does it support?
- Standard: flat (regular) video, 360°, and VR180.
- Stereo 3D: 360° and VR180, each in side-by-side (SBS) or top/bottom (T/B).
- Fisheye: fisheye and fisheye side-by-side (SBS), plus Fisheye Circle, which shows fisheye footage in its circular fisheye shape.
How does it know which format a video is?
In Auto mode, the player checks the video’s information and, when needed, a few of its frames, then picks the format for you. It gets it right most of the time. If a video looks wrong, choose a format from the menu yourself, or try a few until it looks right. Sometimes picking the wrong one on purpose is half the fun.
What kind of video files can I open?
Video files saved on your Mac. It’s built for high-resolution HEVC video on Apple Silicon, with precise seeking and replay.
WAYS TO WATCH
Glasses and 3D.
Does it work with anaglyph glasses?
Yes, with inexpensive anaglyph glasses, the kind with colored lenses. Choose the color arrangement that matches your glasses.
Does it work with XR glasses?
It works with compatible XR and display glasses. Try the different playback modes to find what looks best with your glasses and display setup. I’ve tested it with VITURE Pro 2 XR/AR glasses, and it’s likely to work with others too. The free trial lets you check that it works with yours before you buy.
